Rainy Sunday ootd

I realise the photos are quite bad quality, they were taken on my phone.

In these photos I am wearing...

White Fred Perry - here
H&M floral skirt - similar here
Chestnut leather Zatchel satchel - here
Gold and purple Casio - here
Silver Pandora - here

Today I drove to Asda, went to see my boyfriend, watched TV and played Animal Crossing. Sounds boring but I love lazy Sundays.

Did everyone else have a nice Sunday?

Etsy shop with cute jewellery!

I've been meaning to do this for a long time, I've finally made an Etsy shop!

I'm selling cute rings and will hopefully make more things soon, maybe some necklaces and hair clips.

I am currently selling 4 different styles of rings all for £2.50.

My shop is called Bees and Bows, and let me know if you have any suggestions of things I could make!

Also, here's another link to my ebay. I've got a brand new prom dress starting at £5 and my pinafore dress is still at 99p!

Sewing inspiration - skirts

I've never really been good at sewing, but a few years ago my mum bought me a sewing machine for Christmas and I would love to know how to use it properly. So my mission for this Summer is to make a least one thing using it.

I found this post about making a circle skirt on Birdee Mag, which explains how to make a circle skirt and seems quite easy. I just need to find some fabric.

I've always like florals and paisley patterns and they never really get boring.

I also like the idea of having cartoons on skirts, like the Black Milk Adventure Time collection, because I think it's quite unique.

I might even look into making a Hello Kitty skirt, I think that would be cute.

I'm so motivated now, I just need to decide on fabric!

If anyone knows where I can buy reasonably cheap and good quality fabric please let me know, I'm really new to this!

Chunky Summer shoes

So a few months ago I decided I needed some summer shoes, something cute and comfortable but appropriate for the unpredictable heat of Britain. However, instead of returning home with some cute Lolita-like summer shoes, I stumbled upon some chunky gladiator sandals in New Look. Although I wasn't looking for these in the first place, they suit me a lot more, I've always been drawn to chunkier shoes - creepers, Dr Martens etc.

Here are more alternatives to the surprisingly comfortable chunky gladiator sandals I found in New Look.

So here are my pretty chunky shoes as I mentioned.

They were £25 from New Look, similar here.

Maybe I'll find some cute summer shoes another year.

Big ebay sale! Everything* 99p!

So I had a little clear out of my wardrobe and drawers the other day and decided it was time to be ruthless. I've put everything that I don't wear or that doesn't fit me anymore on ebay, including my beloved American Apparel tartan skirt, as featured in many outfit posts. I thought now was a good time to do so because I'm moving to uni in Lincoln in September and I have too many things to fit into a room in halls. I also want to buy new things that actually fit, but first I need to make money in order to buy new things.

You may have noticed that I haven't posted in a while. I apologise, however it is exam season and I've decided to completely concentrate on revision and reading until the end of my exams, which is around mid June. And good luck if you are in exam season too!

Gingham - the Summer tartan

Gingham has become my new favourite thing, it's the Summer version of tartan so what is there not to like?

As everything was tartan in Winter (tights, leggings, jackets, socks, bags) now everything is in gingham.

I am currently stuck between saving my money for Uni, spending my money on people's birthdays/mothers day/anniversary, or spending every pound I own on gingham. Yep, it's become a new obsession.

Topshop seems to be going all out on this gingham trend, they even have gingham pants and socks. My favourite item in the gingham collection is the black and white smock dress, I love clothes that look relaxed and comfy and it's gingham so even better!

A lot of the New Look gingham items look similar to the Topshop ones, especially the socks, but they're a lot more reasonable on their prices. I like the cute gingham hair accessories and how you can get a whole outfit in the same gingham colours.

We used to wait

A few days ago me and my boyfriend went on a little walk to the woods near my house and because the weather was good I decided to make an outfit post out of it.

In these photos I am wearing...

Burgundy Jumper - Topman
Black and white skirt - Cow vintage
Leather jacket - Topshop
Scarf - Peacocks
Tote bag - Page 45

I love that it's suddenly got warmer recently because it means I can wear my leather jacket more! I want to wear it every day forever, I think it makes every outfit look so much better, and it's a lot more flattering that my massive parka jacket. I saw a post on Tumblr about leather jackets improving people's lives and it's getting more and more believable.

I should buy more of these skirts because they're so versatile, and that's my main concern when buying clothes. Cow in Nottingham have loads of this style skirt in all different patterns. I like how they're thin so you can wear them in Summer but with thick tights you can wear them in Winter, you just have to make sure it's not windy..

Tote bags are my new favourite kind of bag because they fit lots of things and are really light and easy to carry. Also, you can put pretty badges and things on them. My boyfriend bought me this one from a comic book and graphic novel shop in Nottingham called Page 45 and if you are in Nottingham you should really go and have a look because it's full of interesting comics, graphic novels and manga. They have books about the art work of Studio Ghibli films which I think are amazing (they have loads of other things too but those are my favourite).

I've noticed that I've forgotten to do the month of photos thing for February so I might start it now, this years going so fast already I didn't realise!

Lots of Love
